Hamilton, Ontario – Following an extensive venue search, Global Warriors Fighting Championship is proud to announce that Global Warriors 3 will take place May 28th, 2016 from the Brantford Civic Centre in Brantford, Ontario. Brantford is widely known as the hometown of NHL & Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky & the Brantford Civic Centre presents a tremendous sporting legacy including being the first pre-season venue for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1967, hosting the 1982 OHL All-Star Game, playing home to the former OHL Brantford Alexanders & OHA Brantford Golden Eagles and currently hosting Allan Cup Hockey’ Brantford Blast, who won the 100th Allan Cup on home ice in the Civic Centre in 2008. The Brantford Civic Centre also played host to the WWF (now WWE) for frequent events in the 1980’s & 90’s seeing visits from legends such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Bret Hart, etc. as well as hosting the taping for the WWF’s Maple Leaf Wrestling. Global Warriors 3 will be the venue & city’s first professional MMA event adding another chapter to the storied sports history for both.

Global Warriors Fighting Championship is also proud to announce that Global Warriors 3 will be headlined by two-time Global Warriors veteran, UFC Ultimate Fighter participant, and WSOF World Championship challenger Josh Hill (13-1, 2-0 GWFC). Following his razor thin decision defeat to Marlon Moraes, the “Gentleman” has resumed his winning ways on a 3 fight tear, submitting Josh Rettinghouse (12-4) at GWFC 2 in May, 2015 then travelling to Romania in August to gain a victory over Ioan Vranceanu (5-6) before finishing his 2015 with WSOF handing star Russian prospect Bekbulat Magomedov (16-1) his first career loss at WSOF 26 in December. Hill is excited to fight once again infront of friends & family just a short drive from his Binbrook home.

Global Warriors 3 will also feature another two-time Global Warriors veteran and Canadian crowd favourite Lyndon Whitlock (10-5, 1-1 GWFC). Lyndon has won three of his previous four fights and rebounded from a surprising loss at Global Warriors 2 to Mike Hernandez (10-2) with a major victory over Western Canadian prospect Noah Ali (6-3). Whitlock also provided one of the most memorable moments of GWFC 1 when he forced veteran Jason MacKay (9-6) to retire due to leg kicks.

Also competing at Global Warriors 3 at the Brantford Civic Centre will be Canadian Muay-Thai genius Alex Ricci (9-3, 1-0 GWFC) who showed his kickboxing prowess was being complimented by smothering ground game in his GWFC 2 win over Kyle Prepolec (9-4). In addition Adam Assenza (5-3, 1-0 GWFC) comes off his Fight of the Night Performance at GWFC 2 against Taylor Solomon (4-6) to provide plenty of fireworks for the Brantford crowd on May 28th.
